Things to Remember
When you are moving, there are a lot of things that you need to remember. Perhaps the local authorities need to be informed as well as other relevant people.  You might find it difficult to remember it all, therefore this check list will make it more easy for you. Remember to inform the following:

  • The employer
  • The water supply
  • Falck
  • The blood bank
  • The bank
  • The school / the daycare centre
  • Newspapers / magazine
  • Friends
  • The phone company
  • The oil company
  • The vet
  • The post office
  • Electricity / gas
  • The vehicle inspections office
  • The estate office or the tenants
  • The insurance company
  • Various memberships
  • Various account cards

It is furthermore important for you and your family to receive your mail on your new address from the very first day. But should it happen that your mail is delivered to the old address, then the Danish postal service Post Danmark will make sure that your mail is forwarded to your new address the first six months after the removal. -That is if you remember to imform the post office about your move of course.
Please also remember to remove any name plates from your old address and replace them on the new address. This will make the job easier for Post Danmark.
